The selection depends on the spindle nose of a machine and carbide tip bearing area required for a job
To order the right size of CT centers, specify the angle of cone and shank size required
Description & Features
The Carbide Tipped Centres are made of alloy steel shank fitted with tungsten-carbide tips by brazing. The shanks are made of low carbon steel hardened to 40 HRC. The cones where the carbide tips are mounted are given a fine surface finish.
Common Uses
The CT centers are mainly used on grinding machines. On high rpm lathes use of these Ct centres are recommended
Scope of Supply
The CT centres have carbide tips, fitted on the front cones, as per IS Specifications. Special tips can also be supplied according to specific customer requirements, eg: half carbide tips.
The Carbide tip dead centers are available with Morse Taper shanks, in sizes from MT-1 to MT-6, and cone angle of 60 degree. Other cone angles of 30 or 45 degrees can also be supplied
